When I study fashion I make it appoint to study the people. I cannot have one without the other, but that’s just me. There are so many stylists, stylists of color in particular who are exhibiting brilliant work who don’t get enough exposure and I hate that. I often find myself scrolling through portfolios, websites, and social media’s hours upon end in search of inspiration from other women of color in the Fashion Industry. On one day in particular, I stumbled upon this fashion styling icon Xiara. Xiara is a breath of fresh air. She is different, authentic, fearless, and fierce. There have been times ( recently ), when I just wanted to throw in the towel, times I’ve thought maybe this styling thing isn’t for me, and moments after, I stumbled across this woman’s work, and something in me wouldn’t let me quit. I thank you for relentlessly and boldly pursuing your gift. I am inspired by many, but moved by very few, and it’s safe to say your creativity and spirit has moved me. I am hopeful, encouraged, and empowered all thanks to Xiara. It is an honor to be able to even cover a creative genius like herself. I hope that by reading this feature, people take notice of Xiara, and Book Xiara for Styling and Fashion Writing.
