DeAndre Lamont
When I study fashion I make it appoint to study the people. I cannot have one without the other, but that’s just me. There are so many stylists, Black Stylists in particular who are exhibiting brilliant work who don’t get enough exposure and I hate that. I often find myself scrolling through portfolios, websites, and social media’s hours upon end in search of inspiration from other Black men and women in the Fashion Industry. On one day in particular, I stumbled upon this fashion styling icon DeAndre Lamont. DeAndre is a breath of fresh air. They’re different, authentic, fearless, and iconic. There have been times ( recently ), when I just wanted to throw in the towel, and moments after, I stumbled across their work, and something in me wouldn’t let me quit. I thank you for relentlessly and boldly pursuing your gift. I am inspired by many, but moved by very few, and it’s safe to say your creativity and spirit has moved me. I am hopeful, encouraged, and empowered all thanks to you DeAndre. It is an honor to be able to even cover a creative genius like yourself. I hope that by reading this feature, people take notice of DeAndre, and Book DeAndre for Styling. There is room for all of us in this industry, you just have to find your spot and it’s safe to say they have found theirs and will move on to help others find theirs.
