Regina....

Well ladies and gents, you know the saying “all good things must come to an end” well here we are. This will be my last blog post on StylingByChi. No need to be sad, there’s so much more in store. But this isn’t about me, with all good things there will always be someone or something that sees it before it ( he/she) does. And for me that was my biggest inspiration or as I like to call her “big sis” Regina Moretto. Before there was “StylingByChi” there was “Aspiring Stylist Chi”, but that all changed when God placed Regina in my life. I can’t quite remember what came over me but I’ll never forget what was poured into me September 18, 2017. As afraid and anxious as I was I somehow gained the courage to reach out to Regina via Instagram for some styling advice and what she said changed my life forever. Keep in mind I had about 500 followers at the time and I didn’t even expect a response but that alone is just a small glimpse of how amazing and kindhearted my “big sis” is. “You are talented yourself. Stay true to who you are, don’t change for anyone but you. Evolve if you need to but stay authentically you.” To this day those words bring me chills. Not only did she tell me that but she gave me “A complete stranger” styling seminar like tips to be a successful stylist. I’m even emotional typing this because she didn’t have to but she saw something in me that I didn’t see in myself and I will forever be grateful for that. From that day forward I was determined to give styling my all, there was no giving up, no plan B’s or C’s. I am not where I want to be but I can see myself becoming that “authentic” version of myself Regina saw back in 2017. To say Regina has a good heart would be an understatement simply because she’s so much more. Regina’s eye, friendship, photography, and styling capabilities are just… just amazing. No bias all facts. To this day, whenever I find myself feeling discouraged I look to my “big sis” for inspiration and I remember those words and I’m back on my way. Good people are like candles, they burn themselves up to give others light. I have yet to meet Regina but I plan on it this year and I hope to work with her this year as well. Regina, I love you big sis and I thank-you for everything. Words cannot and will never express my level of gratitude. To everyone reading, this may be the end of one season, but believe me when I say it’s the start of another. And what better way to end with the one who helped me start.
