When I study fashion I make it appoint to study the people. I cannot have one without the other, but that’s just me. There are so many stylists, black stylists in particular who are exhibiting brilliant work who don’t get enough exposure and I hate that. I often find myself scrolling through portfolios, websites, social media’s hours upon end. On one day in particular, I stumbled upon this style icon Ariel Tarawally. Ariel is a breath of fresh air. She is different, authentic, and fearless. There have been times ( recently ), when I just wanted to throw in the towel, times I’ve thought maybe this styling thing isn’t for me, heck maybe I’m not good enough. And moments after, I stumbled across Ariel’s work, and something in me wouldn’t let me quit. Ariel I thank you for relentlessly and boldly pursuing your gift. I am inspired by many, but moved by very few. Ariel Tarawally has without a doubt moved me. I am hopeful, encouraged, and empowered all thanks to Ariel. It is an honor to be able to even cover a creative genius like herself. I hope that by reading this feature, people take notice of Ariel, book Ariel, and get inspired by Ariel.
