When I study fashion I make it appoint to study the people. I cannot have one without the other, but that’s just me. There are so many stylists, Black Stylists in particular who are exhibiting brilliant work who don’t get enough exposure and I hate that. I often find myself scrolling through portfolios, websites, social media’s hours upon end. On one day in particular, I stumbled upon this Fashion Styling icon Diavante’ JaVari Nelson formally known as “The Mississippi Delta”. Diavante’ is a Wardrobe Stylist who specializes in fashion for both men and is the Creator of “JaVari Styling Co”. Diavante’ is a breath of fresh air. He is different, authentic, and fearless. There have been times ( recently ), when I just wanted to throw in the towel, times I’ve thought maybe this styling thing isn’t for me, heck maybe I’m not good enough. And moments after, I stumbled across Diavante’s work, and something in me wouldn’t let me quit. Diavante’ I thank you for relentlessly and boldly pursuing your gift no matter what obstacles you may face. I am inspired by many, but moved by very few. Diavante’ has without a doubt moved me. I am hopeful, encouraged, and empowered all thanks to this ray of light. It is an honor to be able to cover a creative genius like Diavante’. I hope that by reading this feature, people take notice of Diavante’, book Diavante’, and get inspired by Diavante’.
