“Photography for me is not looking, it’s feeling. If you can’t feel what you’re looking at, then you’re never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your pictures.” - Don McCullin. I’m a Fashion Stylist as you all know, but the love I have for a creative that can convey a feeling is indescribable. With that being said, I wanted to take a moment to further your understanding on how there are those that inspire me to find the limitless joy in fashion. I introduce to you all Jaquan Brockman, the Pittsburgh based Photographer who is making history. Jaquan is in an entirely different realm with his photography, and I must say I’m in awe every time I see new work of his. The way Jaquan photographs Black and Brown men & women is something that can move you to tears, it is absolutely beautiful. Jaquan’s photography tells a story of triumph, hope, and progression. There is no doubt in my mind that Jaquan’s work will end up in galleries, museums, and history books. I refuse to let talent like this go unnoticed, and you shouldn’t either, creatives like Jaquan deserve their flowers while they can still smell them.
