There are some people you come across in this life that are one of one. Those people that make you feel like your storm clouds are just small parts in a beautiful picture, whether that be through their actions or social media posts. In this case this queen fits into all of these categories off of her personality and beautiful spirit alone. Ladies and gents I introduce to you all Jacquea Mae. Jacquea is a Teaching Artist at 1Hood Media, the vanguard of arts and activism based in Pittsburgh,PA. This queen deserves to be highlighted and recognized for who she is, what she’s done, and who she will soon be. Little does Jacquea know, I was in a dark depression because of the travesties Black and Brown people face. Jacquea’s mere existence has inspired and healed me in many ways, and for that I will forever be grateful. Jacquea gives me hope, but she also reminds me that it’s okay for me to be authentically me. I don’t have to be strong, I’m allowed to be soft and delicate if I choose to be. Jacquea is what I’d like to call a “beautiful spirit”, she’s the kind of person to comfort you during your failures and throw a party for you during your winning seasons. This unique and powerful individual is going to take this world over in so many ways. Many say success is only guaranteed through hard work and gifts given at birth. While that may be true, it is a person’s character that keeps them there and it’s safe to say Jacquea’s will keep her there. Jacquea, thank-you for being a bright life in my life, the world needs more like you.
