Samara : The Lens Teller
"In the world of photography, you get to share a captured moment with other people." - Unknown. I am grateful for the photographers that are creating work that allows me to see myself as a Black woman in a beautiful light. Not only is it refreshing, but it is comforting to know that there are artists who are committed to showcasing Black women as the art they are. It takes courage to be able to capture a photo that tells a beautiful story. We must highlight and praise those that are capturing and creating beautiful photography. Ladies and gents, I humbly introduce you to Samara, the Pittsburgh - Based Photographer whose eye is genuine, heartening, and inspiring. I was given the privilege of experiencing Samara's work in person, and it was an experience that stopped me in my tracks, and immediately had me searching for the artist. Samara's work is beautiful and captivating, and I believe the world of photography has been longing for her. There are those in the art field that will reach heights a plane can’t take you and that is Samara. Samara, I pray you know how talented and gifted you are because your creative genius beams through your lens and our phone screens every time.
