“I have good hair, because it’s my hair.” - Chi Ilochi. For as long as we can remember, the hair of Black women has been the topic of a conversation we never wanted to have. Every Black woman’s hair is beautiful, the variety of textures, patterns, and lengths is what makes it like no other. I believe something so sacred in our world, should be handled with care by an amazing stylist. With that being said, I introduce to you all Rahwon Wilkins, the Founder and CEO of the lovely hair salon “Raw Stylz”. The work that Rahwon is doing in the hair industry is absolutely beautiful. It brings tears to my eyes knowing that people like Rahwon exist, who are committed to showing Black women that their hair is beautiful and has always been. What sets Rahwon aside from every other hair stylist is his love, commitment, and creativity for his work and clients. Because of Rahwon I have a newfound love for my natural hair, because of Rahwon I believe in a different kind of possibility with Black hair.
