Who are you?

I am Jostyles , a 24 year old African native, and New York fashion stylist. 

Did you choose fashion or did fashion choose you?…

Both. I fell in love with always standing out and making a fashion statement with my outfits every single time I left the house. The comfort I feel when it comes to fashion is exciting. 

What according to you is your favorite part of being a fashion stylist? …

Fashion is therapeutic, I love being able to create the look that my clients are going for and being able to experience how well they feel when they get to step out of their comfort zone with fashion. 

Your style and eye for fashion is prepossessing and refreshing, but who and which things were your inspiration while creating such looks? …

My inspiration comes from multiple people and a dash of my imagination. Instagram influencers like “De’arra Taylor” and slaylynn show me how dress outside the box , while remaining vibrant and bold. 

Define fashion? … 

Fashion isn’t about how much it costs or how big of a brand it is, fashion is creativity, art, and freedom of expression. 

What do you want readers to know about you apart from styling?

Aside from expressing myself through the art of fashion , I’m really big on “arts therapy”. I find what works for people and help them mentally through different kind of art such as cooking, dance, and cosmetics. 

What’s next for you?

I will be doing a photoshoot for exposure, creating business cards and preparing to introduce myself to the world.
