Libby

“We don’t meet people by accident. They are meant to cross our path for a reason.” In the earlier years of “Styling By Chi” I wasn’t in the best place mentally. I found solace in my ability to dress up in cute clothing, and style with close friends and relatives. Fashion was my therapy, my safe haven, and the one thing that understood me when life felt like it would never make sense. Until I met you. I believe God sends beacons of light to overpower our darkness when we need it most. Four years ago, I met an incredible woman named Libby at Applebees, who gave me the boost I needed to keep going. You were my light in the darkness, and I will be appreciative of you for as long as I live. Libby, or “a beacon of light” as I like to call her is part of the reason why I never gave up. It is challenging to find hope in your personal life, and the world as you know it when everything keeps going “wrong”, but meeting you was one of the best “rights” ever. Libby is the kind of person to throw a party for you on your best days, and come to your place with a bouquet of flowers on your worst days. I'm so grateful I came across Libby when I did, because little does she know, I genuinely needed her kindness and gentle spirit. Thank you Libby for reminding me that goodness exists and that my bad chapter was just that, “a chapter”. Wherever my journey heads, it is important that you are a part of it, because of you I have a newfound appreciation for the commas in life.

It was on this day, I met someone who would change my life forever.
