“A sister is a gift to the heart, a friend to the spirit, a golden thread to the meaning of life.” – Isadora James. Who would I be without my sister? I oftentimes think. She has loved and seen me through it all. Some days I feel like I don't deserve to have her in my life, but I'm thankful God thinks otherwise. We must take the time to appreciate the precious spirits God has blessed us with. The people that see our potential and greatness before we do, and water our plants and spirits when we're in need. I believe those with good hearts should be treated like the prized possessions they are. It is a good person that is the reason I am who I am today. We are who we are because of who we are loved by. Ladies and gents, I proudly introduce you to my amazing sister, Kevonna Taje. Kevonna or “Ke” as I like to her, is the kind of person, sister, and friend we all need. I met Ke when I was a timid thirteen-year-old, and she loved on and encouraged me like no other. I can't imagine life without her. Kevonna is the kind of person to love you on the days you feel unloveable, and celebrate you with a dozen roses and chocolates on the days you feel unstoppable. I wouldn’t be who I am without my sister. Yes, I know your ambition takes you far, but your tribe takes you further. Thank you Ke for being you in my life, I am grateful for who you are and who you’ve been to me over these years, please know you are loved and appreciated.
