Derrick Tre'
When I study fashion I make it appoint to study the people. I cannot have one without the other, but that’s just me. There are so many stylists, black stylists in particular who are exhibiting brilliant work who don’t get enough exposure and I hate that. I often find myself scrolling through portfolios, websites, social media’s hours upon end. On one day in particular, I stumbled upon this style icon Derrick Tre’. Derrick for me is a breath of fresh air. Derrick is different, authentic, and fearless and sometimes I find myself taking a page from their book. There have been times, when I just wanted to throw in the towel, times I’ve thought maybe this styling thing isn’t for me, heck maybe I’m not good enough. And moments after, I stumbled across Derrick’s work, and something in me wouldn’t let me quit. Derrick I thank you for relentlessly and boldly pursuing your gift. I am inspired by many, but moved by very few. Derrick Tre’ has without a doubt moved me. I am hopeful, encouraged, and empowered all thanks to Derrick. It is an honor to be able to even cover a creative genius like Derrick. I hope that by reading this feature, people take notice of Derrick, book Derrick, and get inspired by Derrick.
