Nathan is the CEO of “Rebel Bred Clothing”, a fashion kingdom that is making every fashion lover's life easier. I was given the opportunity to interview Mr. Brooks about his insightful quest for fashion entrepreneurism. Check out Nathan's riveting answers below!
Who is Nathan Brooks?
Nathan Brooks is an Entrepreneur from the Mon Valley area in the greater Pittsburgh area. I am thirty-five years old, and I have been chasing my dreams of educating; uplifting, and inspiring through clothing for five years. I have grown in my creative talent and brought a new feel to the fashion game.
Why did you decide to choose fashion design as a career? …
Fashion design stuck out to me because of its ability to create and market in many different ways. I believe clothing is a walking billboard for each individual and having a brand that stands for positive principles is something an audience can relate to.
Rebel Bred is what I would like to call a “streetwear luxury brand”, but how would YOU describe Rebel Bred Clothing?
That’s a good way to describe Rebel Bred. Going forward expect to see Rebel Bred as a hybrid between streetwear luxury and athletic leisure. Rebel Bred’s origin is streetwear but having some flexible pieces for work, health, and home is the next step. Rebel Bred expands beyond clothing into the community. We have a focus on community empowerment and supplying the public with the tools to win in business and life.
The designs you’ve created are unique and undisputed, but who and which things were your inspiration while creating such designs? …
Many of our designs are inspired by real-life rebels such as; Harriet Tubman, Malcolm X, Roberto Clemente, MLK, and of course Jesus. Individuals who weren’t afraid to stick their necks on the line for a change in society. Fashion-wise, I’d say Ralph Lauren and Nike are major inspirations in the design process.
Define fashion.
Fashion is the expression of an individual or a collective perception of life. It has no limitation on creativity and uniqueness.
What made you decide to start your brand?
I started the brand to inspire positive change in society. I started the brand to begin my journey of finding a life worth purpose. I wanted to challenge myself to grow spiritually and mentally, and Rebel Bred has helped me grow as a person. I now look forward to helping others grow, after making it this far in my journey.
What’s next for you and your brand?
Next for Rebel Bred, is achieving a national brand and moving towards a more holistic marketing campaign that promotes spiritual, mental, physical, and financial health. Those principles will also reflect in the products for the brand!
Are you proud of yourself and your progress?
At first, I was so focused on the brand that I didn’t take the time to reflect on the progress I've made. I now look at what I've achieved and say "wow you've done a lot in these first five years!" Let’s turn it up a notch!
What do you want readers to know about you apart from design?
I want readers to know that Nathan Brooks is just tapping into the possibilities he can manifest in his entrepreneurial journey. As I succeed, I plan on turning around and feeding the culture everything I have learned along my journey.
